I am very proud to be part of the What about Weddings campaign team. Jessie, Annabel & Tamryn are 3 of the most inspirational women that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. They have campaigned and lobbied the government tirelessly since April 2020, they are fighting for all the couples and wedding businesses that have been so unfairly impacted by the governments lack of financial support and tough restrictions. They work day-in day-out on our behalves and I along with a few others help in any way we can. Please have a look at the website, share our message and campaign tiles on all social media, especially twitter.
I am so honoured to be part of the BeautyBacked team. If you are a hair and make up artist who needs help and support please make an application to BeautyBacked now! Backing the industry we love Beauty Backed is now a trust. A MESSAGE FROM THE TRUSTEES“Over the last year, we have witnessed much of our industry struggle to stay open and viable. As a sector representing an 88 percent female workforce, with 82 percent of business owners as women, we need to stand together and make a change. We see ourselves in our colleagues and as past and present beauty business owners, we understand the hardships COVID19 has created alongside the repeated delays in re-opening our sector and lack of individual sectoral funding support. As Trustees we are truly passionate about the beauty industry and are delighted to be instrumental in taking Beauty Backed from a movement to a Trust. Our initial goal is to support as many beauty professionals as possible to get back to work.” Caroline Hirons Alexandra Forbes Dija Ayodele Lesley Blair Lisa Potter Dixon For any further information or support contact Lucy at help@beautybacked.com
I am also part of the UK Weddings Taskforce. The government asked the wedding industry to put together a taskforce that was diverse and represented all the different businesses within our industry, from venues to cake makers, make up artists to marquee companies. It was set up in November 2020, I sit on the council of representatives. I was also part of the working group for representation until March 2021. I also am part of the APPG for Weddings which is an all party parliamentary group of MP's and wedding businesses working together with Government to get weddings back to what we know and love!
I set up the WHMUA (wedding hair & make up artists) organisation on instagram in November. Bridal hair and make up artists needed to be represented within the Wedding taskforce but there was no specific group in place. The WHMUA also supports the Whataboutweddings and BeautyBacked campaigns. All bridal hair and make up artists can join just by following the account.
